3 Signs Your Coop Door Needs a Battery Swap (and How to Do It)

Your Automatic Coop Door is a key part of keeping your flock safe, but like any hardworking tool, it needs regular care. If it’s been acting up lately, it might be time to check the batteries.

3 Signs It’s Time to Swap the Batteries

Delayed or Inconsistent Operation

If your door is opening or closing at odd times or in odd sequences, low batteries could be the cause.

Blinking

A red blinking light signals your door needs new batteries ASAP.

Quick Temperature Drops

Cold weather drains batteries faster—be prepared to swap them more frequently in winter.

How to Replace the Batteries

Remove the 4 screws securing the sensor box.

Swap out the 2 AA batteries with fresh alkaline batteries (avoid rechargeables).

Secure the sensor box and test your door.

Happy Clucking!
